Time has crept up all too quickly, and I’ve only just realised that the Domitor conference is this month. The theme is ‘Peripheral Early Cinema’, meaning looking at the edges of early cinema, and it’s taking place at Girona, Spain, and Perpignan, France, 17-21 June. I like a programme that allows space for pauses. It’s been some years now since I went to a Domitor conference – for those intrigued, Domitor is the international organisation for the study of early cinema, to which many of the great and the good in the small world of early cinema studies belong.
